Which insulated panels provide the best sound insulation?
Stone wool is by far the best for reducing sound:
- Stone wool: Excellent sound insulation with an Rd value of 2.70–2.85 at 10 cm thickness.
- Glass wool: Good sound insulation with an Rd value of 2.70 at 10 cm thickness.
- XPS: Poor sound insulation with an Rd value of 2.85 at 10 cm thickness.
- Grey EPS: Poor sound insulation with an Rd value of 3.13 at 10 cm thickness.
