History of Unisol
A historical look back at the early years
Unisol 40 years ago
1983 – Four decades ago, founder Erik Weber began producing sandwich panels and cold room doors manually, primarily serving the cold storage sector. At that time, all logistics operations, including loading and unloading, were performed by hand.
1988 – In the summer of 1988, Unisol invested in its first continuous production machine, significantly expanding manufacturing capacity.
1994 – The addition of a horizontal cutting machine further accelerated panel production. Over the course of 11 years, Unisol successfully transformed a labour-intensive process into a largely automated production environment.
1998 – The door production department was established, broadening the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
1999 – The original continuous machine was replaced with a modern, higher-speed model capable of producing both EPS and stone wool panels, enhancing versatility and efficiency.
Millennium turning point
2000 – The company expanded its capabilities by transitioning to the delivery of complete construction projects.
2001 – Unisol relocated to its current headquarters in Roelofarendsveen, The Netherlands, marking the beginning of its evolution into a mature organization offering a comprehensive range of doors and accessories.
2002 – A state-of-the-art panel cutting machine was imported from Australia, a unique investment in Europe at the time. This machine remains in active use, supporting precise and efficient production.
2009 – To fully integrate the production process, Unisol established its subsidiary, Isoveen, and produced its first polystyrene block in-house.
2011 – Unisol achieved international expansion by entering the Belgian market through its subsidiary, Wanden-Units, extending the company’s reach and market presence.
